The purpose of the SLP is to enhance the knowledge of heath care professionals regarding renal function and failure in children.

Layout of the SLP

  • A Five day, non-credit bearing programme at R 1000 per person inclusive of material and refreshments
  • Dates: 12-15 June
  • A registered NMMU Short Learning Programme

Learning components include theory and practica:

  • Anatomy and physiology related to children
  • Assessment of the patient with renal disease
  • Renal pathology in children within the south African context
  • Acute kidney injury
  • Chronic kidney disease
