The Department of Nursing Science has celebrated its 50th anniversary throughout 2025. In honour of this significant milestone, and in the spirit of giving back to our community, we ran a Blessing Box Project to help those in need. This concluded with a Drop-Off Celebration at
Maranatha Siyakatala Child and Youth Care Centre on Mandela Day, which took place during the recess period.
Over four months, we collected numerous items towards this worthy cause, such as unexpired and non-perishable food; toiletries and personal hygiene items; stationery and school items; gently worn clothing and shoes; single bed linen and blankets; bath towels and face cloths; Xhosa children's story books/activity books and children's toys and games and more.
