Dr Diane Chetty

Dr Diane Chetty is an accomplished nursing professional, educator and advocate of clinical excellence with over 30 years of experience in healthcare. She is currently serving as the Chief Nursing Officer at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital Fujairah, a tertiary hospital in the United Arab Emirates. Diane participates as a member of the hospital’s executive team to provide strategic leadership and governance for hospital operations and nursing services, which is fulfilled through administrative, clinical and operational functions. 

Diane has occupied various progressive leadership positions in the dynamic field of nursing, including emergency medicine, trauma and paediatric nursing care, nursing education and research and nursing quality and patient safety. A firm believer of, and committed to life-long learning and nurturing a passion for nursing education and healthcare quality and leadership, she holds a Doctoral degree in Nursing from the Nelson Mandela University in South Africa and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Quality Management from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. 

With a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, Diane has led multiple quality improvement projects that realised measurable impacts in patient safety and staff empowerment. She assumes a transformational approach to leadership, actively leveraging principles and skills towards being an evolutionary leader with a focus on patient and family-centered care, nursing shared governance, positive practice environments and interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork. 

Diane’s key interests in research include resilience-building strategies for nurses and the integration of emerging healthcare technologies and AI-integration into clinical workflows to increase efficiency and improve overall patient outcomes. She teaches and coordinates trauma courses in affiliation with the Society of Trauma and American College of Surgeons. With a career defined by compassionate leadership and excellence, Diane continues to work to elevate healthcare standards and inspire the next generation of leaders in nursing and healthcare.
