Professor Joanne Naidoo is a full professor who has over 20 years’ experience in higher education at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and then Nelson Mandela University prior to joining Life Healthcare as Research Manager. Professor Naidoo has served as the founding Director of Research (2020-2022) for the Faculty of Health Sciences and continues to serve on the Faculty of Health Sciences Research and Ethics Committee at Nelson Mandela University.

 

Professor Naidoo has a research interest in stigmatised illnesses and evidence-informed nursing practice, demonstrated in the successful supervision of Master’s and doctoral students whose work reflects the shared research focus. Further to her role as a researcher, Professor Naidoo has been involved in designing and implementing postgraduate nursing programmes locally and internationally and serves as external examiner for various universities nationally and internationally.
