Ms Mercia Kramer

Ms Mercia Kramer is a lecturer of the Department of Nursing Science, and has worked in academia for the past nine years. Her research interest is in the area of Primary health care, Community Nursing Science,  with a specific focus on communicable diseases (TB, HIV), non-communicable diseases (RA,); Antenatal and postnatal with a preference for qualitative research.

Ms Kramer enjoys research supervision and is currently supervising one Masters and supervises multiple undergraduate projects.  Her teaching focus area is Management and Leadership, Population based health care, Primary Health care, which she facilitates in the undergraduate programmes. She uses an active teaching approach with the aim of involving students, to actively participate and making learning enjoyable, and empowering students with knowledge. She has been involved in the curriculum development and design for Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Nursing, and currently developing the Postgraduate Diploma in Management, and Postgraduate Diploma in Community Nursing.
