
Prof Hussein is a professor of Healthcare Management and Nursing Administration at the Faculty of Nursing, Alexandria University, Egypt, and a Research Associate within the Department of Nursing Science at the School of Clinical Care & Medicinal Sciences, Nelson Mandela University, South Africa and has worked in academia for more than 20 years. She also has experience as a visiting professor in different universities such as the UK, Italy, KSA, and Uganda. Her research interest is in nursing administration, specifically in organizational and employee performance (organizational health, employees' mental health and work productivity, nurse safety practices, quality of care, strategic planning, evidence-based practices, ethical legal practices, and a preference for mixed-methodology research). Prof. Hussein enjoys postgraduate research supervision and is currently supervising 4 PhD and 5 Master’s students. Her teaching focus area is Organizational Behaviors which she facilitates in the postgraduate (Doctoral, Master's, Diploma) and undergraduate programmes. She uses differentiated instruction, lecture-based instruction, technology-based learning, group learning, individual learning, and inquiry-based learning. These methodologies are used throughout online and face-to-face interaction teaching approaches to support students with different learning needs in the classroom and clinical settings to ensure that they feel welcome and comfortable in academic environments and for different learning environments making it adaptable to each learner. She has been involved in the curriculum development and design for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in nursing and healthcare management.
In addition, Prof. Hussein has been working as an international trainer for academic staff, healthcare providers, diplomates, and students.
